- Since flocculation, clarification and filtration all occur within a single filter bed, Upflow Filtration can be compact.
- Plant capacities from 1m3/hr upwards are easily constructed and scaled up.
- Upflow Filtration can be constructed from a wide range of materials with PVC, HDPE and GRP being most suitable for package plants while steel or reinforced concrete can be used for larger scale plants.
- Upflow Filtration plants are easily automated and energy costs are low.
- If sufficient gravity head is available at the plant site, pumping may not be necessary for filtration.
